Two things on a certificate are worth reading rather than glancing at. The first is identity by mass, checked against the calculated mass for the intended sequence; a certificate quoting only one of those two numbers cannot be verified. The second is net peptide content, because a vial labelled 5 mg contains 5 mg of powder, not necessarily 5 mg of peptide, with counter-ions and residual water making up the difference. The mainland and the island are two different routes

British Columbia is the province where a single delivery estimate is least useful, because the last leg differs so much depending on where you are.

Vancouver and the Lower Mainland sit at the far end of every domestic route that starts in central Canada, so transit is typically a day or two longer than into Toronto, but it is road and air freight on a predictable schedule. The local variable is vertical housing: in the high-rise neighbourhoods of Vancouver, Burnaby and Surrey the carrier typically hands off to a building rather than a person, and time spent in a lobby parcel room is invisible on the tracking page.

Victoria and Vancouver Island add a ferry or air crossing, and that leg is a scheduled service rather than a road route. Crossing the Strait of Georgia makes delivery lumpy rather than simply slower: a parcel makes a sailing or it makes the next one, so arrival times cluster and a missed connection costs a day. Order with a day more margin for island addresses, particularly around long weekends.

Coastal humidity inverts the usual seasonal advice

Most of Canada’s winter risk for lyophilised peptides is freeze–thaw. On the BC coast it is sustained atmospheric moisture at temperatures well above freezing. These materials are hygroscopic, and a vial opened in a room at 80% relative humidity takes up water measurably faster than the same vial opened on the prairies in February — and water in the cake accelerates hydrolysis and the deamidation of asparagine and glutamine residues.

GST, and no PST, on BC deliveries

Whether the address is in Prince George, Kelowna or Victoria, a BC delivery is charged 5% GST and nothing more; PST does not appear at checkout.

British Columbia applies its own sales tax to many goods, so it is worth stating plainly that it does not form part of an ExoLabz invoice. Tax is calculated on the delivery address rather than the billing address, and appears as a single line.

A GST-registered institution recovers the 5% through the ordinary input tax credit, and quotations are issued tax-exclusive with the GST shown separately so a purchase order can be raised against either figure. No duty and no carrier brokerage apply, because a domestic Canadian parcel does not clear customs — brokerage in particular is charged on delivery and is frequently the largest unbudgeted line on an imported order.
